warranty policy

A completed warranty claim form must accompany any magneto that is submitted for warranty consideration.

Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC warrants to the first user that our overhauled and certified units will be free of defects in the workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months or three hundred (300) hours, from date of service, whichever comes first.  Under this warranty, Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC holds the option to replace or repair at our shop and any defect found in our serviceable unit at no charge.  This warranty is non-transferable. 

Magneto and related components must be installed by an FAA certified mechanic or warranty is void.  A copy of the original AIS work order and an appropriate logbook entry by the attending FAA certified mechanic MUST accompany any warranty claim. Magnetos that are submitted without the appropriate documentation will not be eligible for warranty consideration.

Units repaired to the owner’s specifications and not overhauled have a limited warranty.  Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC warrants that the specific repair will be free from defects for a period of thirty (30) days or ten (10) hours, whichever comes first.

Malfunctions due to defective parts are limited to replacement and labor by Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC.  Defective parts will not be returned to the manufacturer for replacement or reimbursement by the factory, and is not deemed to the responsibility of Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC.

The warranty for any replacement unit will be for the remaining period of the original equipment warranty. 

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT EXTEND TO ANY UNIT WHICH HAS BEEN SUBJECT TO MISUSE, ACCIDENT, IMPROPER INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE APPLICATION OR CONTAMINATION WITH FOREIGN PARTICLES AND/OR SUBSTANCES FOUND INSIDE THE UNIT. 

This warranty does not extend to any unit repaired or altered outside of our shop, unless prior written authorization is obtained from Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC.  Nor does this warranty extend to labor charges for removal and/or replacement of the unit, freight charges incurred, or any losses incurred by grounded aircraft. Tampering, altering, defacing, or removing the product serial number will serve to void this warranty.

Any job left at Aircraft Ignition Services, LLC for more than thirty (30) days is subject to sale, unless written authorization is obtained.
